A wedding gown with a sad story

MiSa-Wedding-gownThis is a wedding gown that I designed and sewed for one of my friends. She didn’t want a traditional white gown, so after having talked about colors and styles she liked, we came up with a truly unconventional color (for a bridal gown): bright red!

I made the gown exactly to her measures, using only the finest silk fabrics. The corset is made with a heavy Shantung silk, while the skirt is a lighter version of the same fabric and finally the over skirt is made with silk organza.

This creation had a bit of a sad story, because when the day came, to wear the gown and to take the steps down the aisle, she had second thoughts and decided not to take the next step and so, the gown has never been worn.
